Appropriate Use: Generative AI #

It is the responsibility of the user not to upload content or enter prompts which may generate inappropriate or concerning text or imagery, or which contains any personal, sensitive or confidential information.
What are Gems? #
Gems in Gemini are essentially custom, reusable AI experts that you can create to serve a specific purpose. By giving a Gem a name and a detailed set of instructions you personalise Gemini’s behaviour, tone, and knowledge base. This feature saves time on repetitive tasks and ensures consistent and relevant responses.
The ability to upload your own files (like curriculum guides, notes, or school policies) is what makes Gems powerful in education, as it grounds the AI’s responses in your specific, relevant context.
How could I use Gems in Education? #
A Gem is an incredibly powerful tool in an educational setting because it allows you to create a permanently instructed, personalised AI assistant for a specific role or task, saving significant time on repetitive prompting.

To share, simply open your Gem manager on the web and click “Share” next to any Gem you’ve created. Select whether you would like to share with Edit or View only permission.
