Use Case: Transforming Titanic History into an Interactive Learning Suite

Objective: To create a comprehensive, age-appropriate (10+) educational resource package about the Titanic using a multi-step AI workflow.

The Workflow

  1. Foundational Research (Gemini): The process began by using Gemini to curate facts about the Titanic. The prompt was specifically tuned for a 10-year-old audience, ensuring the tone was engaging and the complexity was appropriate while maintaining historical accuracy.
  2. Resource Synthesis (NotebookLM): The generated facts were compiled into a source document and uploaded to NotebookLM. By leveraging all eight features in the NotebookLM Studio, the raw text was transformed into a diverse set of study materials, including:
    • Interactive FAQs for quick inquiry.
    • Study Guides to reinforce key themes.
    • Audio Overviews for auditory learners.
    • High-Impact Infographics that visually map the ship’s journey and dimensions.
  3. Visual Literacy (Sketchnoting): To provide a creative “anchor” for the information, a specialised Sketchnote prompt (sourced from social media) was applied to the original document. This converted the structured data into a visual map, perfect for students who benefit from spatial and artistic representations of history.

Benefits

Efficiency: Moving from a blank page to a full suite of 8+ resources in a matter of minutes.
Adaptability: The content is now accessible to different learning styles: visual (sketchnotes/infographics), auditory (audio overviews), and logical (FAQs/guides).
The “Wow” Factor: The NotebookLM-generated infographic stands out as a professional-grade visual that anchors the entire project.

Insight

Insight graphic

By using the same source document across different tools, you ensure narrative consistency. The facts in the audio overview match the facts in the sketchnote, reducing “hallucination” and strengthening the educational impact.

Outputs

The colleague who shared these understood that some of the elements within the sketchnote might not be 100% accurate and would require further refinement. This reinforces the importance of always checking the output.
