NotebookLM: Data Tables

What’s new?

From Scattered Insights to Structured Data

Valuable information is seldom found in a tidy format; key facts are often buried across multiple sources, making manual extraction a significant bottleneck.

Google are streamlining that workflow with the introduction of Data Tables in NotebookLM. You can now instantly synthesise complex research into structured tables, ready for immediate export to Google Sheets. Spend less time compiling data and more time acting on it.

Here are some ways to use them

  • Study Materials: Help students to prepare for exams with study tables of historical events, organised by date, key figures, and consequences.
  • Misconception Mapping: Provide a textbook chapter and ask for a table of Common Student Misconceptions vs. Correct Scientific Explanations, plus a column for Suggested Scaffolding.
  • Vocabulary Progression: Upload a unit’s worth of lesson plans. Ask NotebookLM to generate a table with three columns: Tier 2 Vocabulary, Definition (Student-Friendly), and Example from the Text.
