Google Gemini Pilot

Google Gemini Pilot

Overview

We are coming to the end of a 6 month pilot of using Google Gemini in Glow with 2 Local Authorities: Argyll & Bute and Clackmannanshire.

Feedback from the pilot has been positive, with lots of excellent examples of use being shared within the pilot group.

We also got the opportunity to work closely with 30 Google Gemini Champion volunteers who agreed to participate in monthly discussions to share feedback and ask questions.

Huge “Thanks” to both local authorities and the Google Champions for their invaluable support with this exciting piece of work.

Gemini as a Core Google Service

Coming to Glow Google tenancies in February 2025

We are pleased to be able to let you know that we have just received confirmation that we are going to be able to roll out Google Gemini as part of the Google Core offering to all Google LAs within Glow.

Please note that due to Gemini being classed as an 18+ app, Gemini will only be available to staff.

We will be working on this roll out in January & February 2025.

The Glow Team have also set up a private collaborative space to support with the deployment and adoption of Google Gemini within Glow. This is a team site for educators who are interested in sharing and collaborating around the use of AI within Google via Glow.

Next Steps

Our aim is to create further articles for Glow Connect with exemplars of use and quotes from the pilot users to supplement the guidance already in existence and can be found on Glow Connect, the public face of Glow.

User Feedback

Please keep in touch with us once you start using Google Gemini and let us know about the  exciting and innovative ways you have been using it to support learning, teaching, assessment and any time saving benefits this has had and the impact on your work.  It would be great to be able to share these experiences with teaching staff across Scotland as we develop our skills using these tools.
