Scottish Dance Resources and Accreditation for Schools
Does your school Dance Scottish?
Do you celebrate Burns Night, St Andrew’s Day, or organise a ceilidh where pupils can enjoy Scottish dancing?
The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) offers free resources that are available to all teaching and non-teaching staff via Glow.
Jigs & Reels and Dance Trad
Jigs & Reels

Dance Trad

Both resources provide clear instructions and lesson plans for ceilidh and simple Scottish country dances, complete with music and demonstration videos.
New Updates
The Dance Trad videos have been updated and are now available on the RSCDS YouTube channel for easier access. All files can be found on the RSCDS SharePoint, where each resource has its own folder containing music, videos, and the book in PDF format. We are working towards adding most of our videos to the official RSCDS YouTube channel to make them even more accessible.
Accreditation for Schools
Did you know your school could gain official recognition for Scottish dancing? The RSCDS Accreditation Scheme for Schools celebrates schools that encourage Scottish dance as part of their activities.
