Google Vids Update

What’s changing?

You can now create and edit videos in vertical (9:16) and square (1:1) sizes in Google Vids, in addition to the widescreen/horizontal format (16:9) already supported.

These additional sizes will give you more flexibility to create content and export to a variety of platforms that your local authority approve for use within education.

How can I change video size?

  1. On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
  2. In the menu bar, click Video size .
    • Or, at the top, click File and then Video size.
  3. From the drop-down menu, select your preferred video size:
    • Widescreen (16:9)
    • Vertical (9:16)
    • Square (1:1)
  4. Click Apply.

Tip: When you apply the new size, your content automatically adjusts to the new size. But, you might need to manually fine-tune elements.
