There are many new AI features being added to Teams and available in the Microsoft Learning Accelerators that can provide some options that may save time when creating learning content or providing feedback.
When you begin typing instructions for the assignment, after you type ten characters, AI assisted suggested content based on the assignment title, the information in the instructions field, the classwork module (if applicable), the class name, and grade level will appear in the toolbar at the bottom of the textbox.
The more content that is initially entered, the better generative AI content results will be.
Tip: A good tip for generating assignments is to be specific and use examples. The minimum amount of characters to enter is 50, this helps provide more context for the AI to build a more detailed understanding of the assignment and goals you hope to achieve.
A range of areas are included:
You can choose to Keep it or Adjust the suggestions.
- Grade Level: this could be used as a rough guide but is not aligned to the Scottish curriculum.
- Add Detail: Use the current text but expand the concepts that are outlined in the instructions.
- Add Steps: Use the current text but format with clear steps to the instructions for students to follow.
- Add Sparkle: Use the current text but add emoji for key concepts and steps.
- Add Learning Objectives: Use the current text but add suggested learning objectives for the assignments.
- Clarify Concepts: Use the current text and outline the key concepts to know for the assignment.
- Simplify: Revise the current text for easier reading.
- Emphasise Key Concepts: Use the current text but bold Key Concepts in the text.
- More: The More option shows additional Generative AI actions, which can’t be displayed due to limited available space in the AI toolbar.
Suggested AI feedback
Suggested AI feedback is a new feature that makes it easier for you when you want to provide feedback to students as part of your Assignments flow. Use the Feedback field to support as you review the student work, and have AI help enhance and summarise it for you.
Or, if you are using rubrics, you can have AI review your rubric selection and summarise it.
This feature always uses your input as the basis of the suggested summarised feedback, and you will always need to confirm the suggested update and add potential edits, before returning to the student.
